I love this place. They are always super friendly when I come in. The ribs are the best in KC and that is a strong statement. Yum!

Good but not great. Tasty but not extraordinary. I was excited to try a new BBQ place, and hoped this would be one of those hidden gems. While it was quite good, and I will certainly return, it doesn't hit my "Top KC BBQ" spots, unfortunately. I was there on a Thursday for lunch, and the lunch special of the day (they have a different one each day for Monday through Friday) was Burnt Ends with a side and drink for $7.99 (all other days had a special that was $6.99). Sides are fairly limited, but they have all you need - fries, beans, slaw, and potato salad. I asked the very friendly guy who was working which was his favorite, and he said beans, so of course that's what I got. After ordering, he headed back to prepare and appeared to be the only one working, which I could imagine would slow things down quite a bit if it got busy. Luckily it wasn't, but there were several people on the way in while I was heading out. Anyways, it took under five minutes to get my food - not bad. The burnt ends were large and flavorful, but not quite burnt enough for me. But they were good, no doubt. The beans were solid, but nothing hugely memorable. They were watery (not that that's a bad thing), and had a nice sweet flavor. As far as BBQ sauce goes, it's interesting - seemed to me to be sweeter than most, and had good flavor, but not outstanding flavor. So yeah, I would return, as the food was good and the service was great. Just wasn't amazing as I had hoped it would be. It's probably a bit over 3 stars, but not quite enough to bump it up to 4.

Decent BBQ in a gas station, who'da thunk it? It's not the very best 'que I've ever tasted, but it's close to my house & it's relatively cheap, and it's pretty darn tasty. I got a generous portion of burnt ends that were nicely smoky & sweet. Fries were pretty ordinary, but not limp. The ambiance is a bit spartan, but funky & friendly -- the owner will cheerfully hand you a Sharpie to write on his Wall of Fame.

I live nearby and dropped in by chance to buy food for a few friends coming over. I got some wings, ribs, fries, and something else I cant remember. Anyways, LOVED the wings my husband said the sauce they use is one of his favorites because its vinegar based. My husband also liked their turkey and ham. Their ribs are good too but not the best we've ever had. Really liked Bee Cee's, couldnt say we love it out of all KC's BBQ resturants so thats why we're giving 4 stars.

The wings are a must. We were treated extremely well by the staff and we were very impressed with the owner's willingness to participate in our tasting experience. Food was good without complaint. Will go back

This new little BBQ place is in the same building as the convenience store for the Phillips 66 gas station on the KU Edwards Campus. There used to be a restaurant called Sliced in this space. I went in this afternoon to check it out -- it's very close to my apartment so it would be great to have a good BBQ place nearby! I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of potato salad. Bingo! The sandwich was delicious, and so was the potato salad, even though that isn't made in-house yet. But even though it's commercial potato salad, this one is good! Quite tart and only slightly sweet, with plenty of mustard in the dressing. The sandwich is generous and comes on a good bun. The sauce is spicy-sweet and very tasty, in my opinion. I will definitely go back for another sandwich, and also to try other items, like the burnt ends dinner! The couple that owns it are very nice and working hard to provide a quality product. I think they're succeeding, so far! The hours are convenient (except for being closed on Sunday) and they offer ribs, chicken, hot wings, pulled pork, burnt ends, numerous sandwiches, and they sell meats by the pound. They will also cater. All I can say is "check them out!" In this town everybody is a BBQ expert and has their own opinion of what "perfect" BBQ should be like. BeeCee's produces some very tasty 'que, so try it and see if you like it as much as I did!

I have never posted a negative review before. It was the worst BQ I have ever. Worst than fast food. It was the Fourth of July; I got take because I was pet setting for freinds. The only thing not bad was the cole slaw and it was store bought.

I just had to try Bee Cee's the moment I saw it - a BBQ place so close to work? It would be the perfect excuse to enjoy BBQ on a weekly basis! Unfortunately those dreams were squashed given my first (and likely last) meal at Bee Cee's. I do realize that my standards (and the standards of most KCers) are inevitably quite high for BBQ. That being said, I didn't go in expecting this place to be the next Oklahoma Joe's. I tried the pulled pork sandwich (8.99 with 1 side), which actually isn't a great price for mediocre BBQ. The pork lacked moistness, even with copious amount of sauce drenched over it. I got to taste some of the untainted pork at the bottom of the stack - it was not surprisingly tastier than the sauce-ridden pieces, though it definitely lacked smokiness. I would recommend asking for the sauce on the side and customizing to your own taste. The positives? There were no greasy streaks of fat, and the portion is LARGE - so large in fact that the huge pile of meat spilled out of my bun and completely soaked the bottom, making it impossible to pick up (but hey, this is BBQ, we don't expect to look pretty eating it). The sides are scarce (slaw, beans, potato salad). The slaw is mayo-based, which I know is a matter of personal taste (unfortunately not one of my personal preferences). I was happy to see celery seed flecks in it, which imparted a nice kick of flavor - if you can get past the mayo. Unfortunately I have to give 2.5 stars to Bee Cee's BBQ - there's simply too much good BBQ in the area. Sigh. I guess most dreams do not come true...

Good pulled pork and good sauce. Beans are ok but the slaw was so-so. If you need a break from the regular joint, I would definitely suggest checking out this place.

Great pulled pork sandwich and potato salad. I would go back because not only is the food is awesome, but the owner and his son gave us excellent service.

I'm a Memphis girl and we take ourBar-b-Que seriously and I won't eat just anybody's Que. However, Bee Cee came highly recommended and I promised the next time I was in town I'd give it a try. Hands down some of the best food I've had. I was not disappointed. I even took some back with me. The staff was very professional and friendly, you couldn't ask for more. I'll definitely be back!!

Selling out of their daily special(burnt ends) by 2:00 isn't a good thing especially when the place doesn't see that much business. I went with the pulled pork sandwich which was plenty of food but not very flavorful. The sandwich came with fries, but I've tasted better ones that are store bought. 2 of the 5 sodas were out which makes the whole experience not a very enjoyable one but for 6.99 + tax, it's worth a shot.

The first time I came here I was early for a KU Edwards campus class and was hungry. I am usually pretty skeptical about smaller BBQ places, especially if they are in Southern Johnson County. But this place is awesome! The prices are amazing and the atmosphere is even better. They don't have a bunch of bbq trophies spread throughout the space, or some authentic looking eating area... but if you stay and eat you will almost always have the owner come over and talk to you. This is a TRUE family owned and operated BBQ joint. AND they remember their customers! The line is never too long to deal with and the food is worth the 1 minute wait (literally I don't think I have ever waited for more than 1 minute from the time I ordered). Hopefully you will be lucky enough to be there on random day when the owner is testing out some of his "soon-to-come" food items. Bee Cee's does it right!

everytime I try a new BBQ place, I try real hard to be objective and fair when giving a review. This place just opened recently and there was also a coupon in the little coupon book, so I thought, why the hell not. It's in a gas station across the street from the OP Golf Course, and a super friendly young man was taking orders while a quiet older gentleman made the orders in the back. first off let me say, the prices were very reasonable, and all of the sandwiches came with a side, which is the way things should be. I had a beef and pork sandwich with fries. for 10 bucks, which I don't find too outrageous. I could have gotten one meat and a smaller sandwhich for 6 bucks, which is a pretty good deal. they also had a daily special for 7, which also seemed like a pretty good deal. now the bad, I couldn't taste the meat at all because it comes completely smoothered (tossed?) in BBQ sauce. the sauce wasn't bad, in fact I enjoyed it, but I would have liked to know what the meat tasted like, and also I prefer a much smaller amount on my sandwhiches when I eat them. the pulled pork was literally soaking in sauce and the beef, sliced thin, was likewise covered. the fries were the frozen kind, but not crinkle cut, which i detest, but still, the places in town that make their fries fresh blow frozen fries out of the water. i would like to go back and try the burnt ends, and maybe next time ask if i could get the meat w/o sauce. I'm not sure if they do that or not. Until then, I proclaim this joint just another wanna be a long line of BBQ places in the area. not aweful, not great, but i do love their prices, so theres that.

Delicious BBQ!!! Friendly, fast service, reasonable price. One sandwich could fill you up for most of the day. Right next to KU Edwards campus, perfect for grabbing food between job and class. I look forward to working my way through the menu!

Somehow my previous review was deleted. I was underwhelmed. Burnt ends were sub par. Soggy and not what I look for in a burnt end. Staff had character. Perhaps a little too much character. Bright spot... My friend and I were offered a free hot wing. It was delicious. Crunchy yet saucy. Spicy and flavorful! Will I go back? Only as a fast/last option. This is KC good BBQ is everywhere!

Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
